Honolulu mayor issues emergency proclamation

Honolulu (Hawaiinewsnow) – Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi on Thursday issued an emergency situation because of the strong large pressed storm system touching Oahu.

The strong winter storm brought windy conditions that closed down trees, triggered widespread power cuts and flooded roads all day.

Several vehicles were damaged on Thursday when the serious weather caused trees to overturn on Keaaumoku Street, near the Ala Moana Center.

The proclamation gives the city of resources for emergency and disaster relief.
