Fox weather is looking at the chances of Punxsutawney Phil seeing his shadow when he gets out of his hole in Pennsylvania on Groundhog Day on Sunday.

It has been a long, cold and dull winter, but has no fear. The world’s most famous Groundhog is giving us its prediction of when the tide will turn, introducing spring’s warmer temperatures.

But if you are not a fan of what Punxsutawney Phil has to say about it on February 2nd you are lucky. There are plenty of other earth dogs out there that are just as eager to try to predict the weather.

Just to summarize: Groundhog Day in 2025 is Sunday 2nd February. If Phil does not see his shadow, the US can rejoice – an early spring is on the way. If he sees his shadow – hunks down. Winter is holding for another six weeks.

Here are a few other earth dogs trying to dab in weather forecasts and can get a little irritable in the process.

According to Punxsutawney Groundhog ClubIn 1886, the first time marked that Groundhog Day appeared in Lokalavisen, and the following year brought the first official trip to Gobbler’s turning button.

Today, tens of thousands of people from all over the world advise to Pennsylvania to celebrate Phil, and the organizers advise guests to arrive during the before dawn to take advantage of today’s festivities.

In Canada, Torontos Gary Groundhog had less glamorous tombs in 1995.

Potomac Phil is a little less “lively” than his fellow gifts – because he is full.

Event organizers carry the taxidermied Groundhog to the podium to predict the weather not only, but also the political climate.

Wiarton Willie – Wiarton, Ontario

Canada’s Wiarton Willie began as a fur hat in 1957, according to Mac McKenzie, a Wiarton resident. He told a toronto -star -reporter that the fur hat in snow Was actually an albino groundhog looking for his shadow.

The city’s celebration of Groundhog Day grew in popularity with Willie.

Flatiron Freddy Out in Boulder, Colorado, is also ready to make its annual weather prediction on February 2nd. The city’s officials said that Freddy has appeared in many ways, including canoeing, fire engine, bobsles, skis, zippers and more.

She is Massachusetts’ State Groundhog And live on Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary.

Students at Hunnewell Elementary School in Wellesley fought hard for Ms. G to become the official Massachusetts State Groundhog.

Their hard work paid off because on July 31, 2014, then Gov. Deval Patrick signed Mrs G Bill H.2864 in law, which makes it official.
