Zion Williamson sits out of Pelicans’ games against Celtics because of a stomach disease

New Orleans (AP) – Zion Williamson sat out of New Orleans Pelicans’ game against Boston Celtics Friday night due to a stomach disease.

Williamson has missed 36 of Pelicans ’49 games this season. He average 24.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in five games since returning from a left hamstring injury that sidelined him 27 matches.

Williamson said on Thursday that he felt healthy enough to play the second half of back-to-back games, but was held out of the Pelicans as a caution because of his story with hamstring injuries. There was no mention on Thursday about his illness.

The Pelicans said it was a non-covid disease.
