Durant, Booker at Tempo to hit Historic Scoring Marks

game

San Francisco – Phoenix Suns Duo Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are less than 100 points away from doing history.

Durant is 94 points shy to reach 30,000 career points, a feat that only seven players have achieved in NBA history-lebron James (41,498), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36.928), Kobe Bryant (33.643) , Michael Jordan (32.292), Dirk Nowitzki (31.560) and Wilt Chamberlain (31.419).

Booker is only 91 points away from becoming Suns’ leading goal scorer. With 15,576 points, Booker is number two for the late, big Walter Davis at 15,551 points.

They could both very well reach out to these milestones during a four-game road trip that starts Friday in the Golden State. It would be crazy if Durant reaches 30k when Suns ends Road Trip 5 February against Oklahoma City.

Wonder if the Thunder fans would boo him, as they usually do, even if they paused the game for a moment to recognize this incredible performance? After all, more than half of his career points came with OKC.

Durant is third on the franchise scoring list at all times with 17,566 points. He played his rookie year in Seattle with the then Sonics before the franchise moved to Oklahoma City in the 2008-09 season.

Durant average 27.3 points this season. At that pace he had hit 30K next week at OKC.

Booker is an average of 25.5 points. At that pace, he had become Phoenix’s leading goal scorer in the same game.

A quick side message.

Durant already has a remarkable Suns record. He is the franchise’s leading leader in scoring average of 27.07 points a game. Charlie Scott is number two of 24.8 points, and Booker ranks the third at 24.37.

Charles Barkley (23.4), Gail Goodrich (21.9), Amar’e Stoudemire (21.38), Stephon Marbury (21.25), Tom Chambers (20.57), Paul Westphal (20.56) and Connie Hawkins (20.47) Left 10.

Davis average 20.45 points in its 11 seasons with Suns to rank 11Th in franchise scoring average.
