‘My old ass’ instructor Megan Park puts the YA series at Amazon (exclusive)

“My old ass” writer and director Megan Park has landed a series order on Amazon Prime -Video for the drama “Sterling Point” Black have learned exclusively.

Exact plot details are kept under wrapping, but “Sterling Point” is described as a YA drama. Park is the creator of the series and will also direct, perform products and serve as co-showrunner.

Ya genre veterans Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will also perform products and co-showrun under their fake empire banner. Luckychap, which produced “My Old Ass”, will perform in its first-look TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios. Amazon MGM Studios acquired the distribution rights to “My Old Ass” out of 2024 Sundance Film Festival and gave the film a limited theater release before releasing it on Prime Video.

“My old ass” starred Maisy Stella and Aubrey Plaza. In the film, Stella’s character meets the 39-year-old version of himself playing the plaza-mens he was on a mushroom trip. The film received overwhelming positive reviews at the release and had a 90% critical approval assessment on the rat Tomatoes. In his review for BlackPeter Deuse wrote: “In his honor, this future classic is honest about the teenager’s desire, self -question about sexual identity problems, and all other behavior that sends concerned mothers and father in meltdown.”

Park got his start in Hollywood as an actress at shows like “The Secret Life of a American Teenager” and movies like “Charlie Bartlett.” She made both her functional writing and the director’s debut with the 2021 movie “The Fallout” with Jenna Ortega, Julie Bowen, John Ortiz and Maddie Ziegler. That movie premiered on SXSW and later streamed at Max. It also received incredibly strong reviews from critics, and Park was named one of Variety’s “10 instructors to see” in 2022. She has also written and directed music videos for artists, including Billie Eilish, Gucci Mane, Alina Baraz and Blackbear.

Schwartz and Savage have a long history in the YA genre that has co-created the hit series “Gossip Girl” and Executive Producting The Latest Restart at Max. Their other credits include “Looking for Alaska”, “The OC”, “Runaways”, “Hart of Dixie”, “Dynasty” Restart and “Nancy Drew.” Most recently, the couple created the Apple TV+ drama “City on Fire” based on the novel with the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg.

Schwartz and Savage are reopened by WME and McKuin Frankel Whitehead. Luckychap is reopened by Entertainment 360, CAA, lawyer Jeff Bernstein and storytelling.
