Nottm Forest 7-0 Brighton (1. February 2025) Game Analysis

Nottingham Forest thundered Brighton 7-0 helped by a hat trick by striker Chris Wood in their Premier League clash at City Ground on Saturday in an emphatic jump back from last week’s humble 5-0 loss at Bournemouth.

Forest stays third at 47 points after 24 games to consolidate their grip on a top four place that brings the Champions League football next season, while Brighton is ninth at 34.

A own goal from Lewis Dunk in the 12th minute, the scoring started when Brighton’s skipper lung to clear Morgan Gibbs-White’s low cross and knocked the ball into the net.

Chris Wood continued his impressive scoring season as Nottingham Forest thundered Brighton.

Gibbs-White doubled Forest’s lead in the 25th minute with a glazing header from Anthony Elangas corner.

Wood network his first goal seven minutes later, when he left completely unmarked, Elangas crossed the Bart Verbruggen. Forest continued to revolt after the break and Wood tapped home Elanga’s cross from close range in the 64th.

The New Zealand International ended his hat trick five minutes later with a penalty awarded after Tariq Lamptey bundled Gibbs-White to Earth. Neco Williams got the sixth in the 89th and Jota Silva put the icing on the cake with a low strike for extra time.
