News Flash • Frederick -Police are preparing for annual fire in ice

Frederick Police Department is happy to announce the return of the highly expected annual Fire in ice case. This weekend-long party will bring thousands of residents and visitors to the center of Frederick for a spectacular view of winter fun. With increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic, the Frederick Police Department will work closely with professional flaggers to ensure the security of all participants and minimize traffic disorders.

Event details

  • Kickoff: Friday 31. January 2025 from 18.00 to 21.00
    Join downtown for an exciting evening of live ice -cutting demonstrations, interactive games, Polar Lounge and Pyrophoric Fire Performances.

  • Main Event: Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 7 p.m. 11am to 9pm
    Enjoy ice sculptures, live entertainment and unique experiences in the center all day.

Traffic information
Motorists and residents must plan delays and closures in the road over the weekend, especially during the peak times. The following restrictions will be in place on Saturday, February 1, 2025:

  • No turns Allowed at Patrick & Market St or Market & Church St. 11am to 19:00

  • Carroll Creek Garage Traffic Flow:

    • Patrick St: Input only

    • Carroll Creek Way: Only quit

    • Maxwell Ave: Ending only garage traffic

  • All garages in the center will offer parking on one $ 10 fixed fee from 11am to 21:00

Shuttle Service
To improve the experience, participants are encouraged to use Free Shuttle Service Available on Saturday, February 1st. Shooters run every 15 minutes from 11am to 10pm With practical stops near key event venues.

  1. Thomas Johnson Middle School (1799 Schifferstadt Blvd)

    • DROPS OFF IN POLAR LOUNGE (15 E 6TH ST)

    • Note: A wheelchair access shuttle will be available on this route between 11am – 14:00 and 17:30 – 19:30

  2. Frederick FairGrounds, Parking Place A (704 E Patrick St / Corner of E Patrick & Franklin St)

  3. NYMEO FIELD AT HARRY GRODEN STADIUM (21 stadium dr)


Frederick Police Department will have officers stationed throughout the event area to help with traffic management and ensure security for all participants. We encourage everyone to plan their visits in advance and give extra time for travel.
