Weekend winter weather may be deceiving for some around PNW

Portland Area Weather Details for Saturday 1 February 2025

Portland, Ore. (KOIN) – The first seasonal winter weather aims at Greater Portland, the Vancouver Metro area when February begins.

February starts cooler and potentially cunning than what Portland has too late. Scattered rain showers are expected to be Saturday when cooler temperatures return. Afternoon heights only come in the mid -40s along the Willamette Valley on Saturday. That’s when snow height levels start to fall.

Rain showers are switching to a pair of wet snow showers that are probably over 700 ′ Saturday night. Sunday morning and Sunday night are the best chances of Portland’s hilly areas to see more than a winter mix. The lowest snow height expected this weekend came on Sunday night. This is where most scattered showers will bring a short snow event to isolated locations over Portland.

Accumulative snow is unlikely this weekend, but a light dust on grassland is possible Sunday morning and Sunday night. Increases over 500 ′ could see some slush on roads before Monday morning commuting.

Any snow that can accumulate in grassy places around Portland probably won’t be long. Meltning will happen quickly as temperatures are heated into the low 40s Sunday to Wednesday. Snow forecast cards can deceive as the accumulation does not visually show that almost half a empty snow in lower elevation societies.
