Jimmy Butler unwilling to sign Warriors Contract Extension – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Looks like Warriors are out on Jimmy Butler Sweepstakes … for now.

Golden State has been associated with Butler for months, and with the NBA’s trade deadline on February 6 only four days away, Miami Heat Forward recently told Warriors that he is not willing to sign a contract extension with the team if he was to be traded there , and the negotiations between the two teams have ended for now, Espn’s Brian Windhorst reported Sunday night with reference to sources.

With Golden State out of the race for Butler, at least for now, and with Chicago Bulls, who allegedly sent guard/forward zach avalanche to Sacramento Kings in a three-team trade that sent Starpoint Guard de’Aaron Fox out to San Antonio Spurs, Warriors’ trading options seem to be thin.

The heat has suspended Butler on two separate occasions this season, most recently for an indefinite period, after the 35-year-old violated several holding rules. In the 25 games, however, Butler has played, he is an average of 17 points per year. Fight, his lowest total since the 2013-14 season, with 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists, shooting 54 percent off the field and 36.1 percent from 3-point reach.

Butler’s sixth season of the heat has nothing less than riot, and with Warriors reportedly no longer in the mixture, it is perhaps for the best for the Golden State.
