Grammys Live Updates: Night’s Biggest Gains, Performances and More

Legendary record manufacturer and composer Quincy Jones was honored in a special tribute under Grammy’s Telecast, where actor Will Smith calls Jones “a mentor, friend (and) father figure” in a moving speech.

“All Q’s children and all of us who just loved him, as if he were our father, know this: Quincy Jones always took care of people, and that’s how he fed the world,” Smith added.

The tribute contained some of the music’s biggest stars that took to the stage accompanied by Herbie Hancock on piano, including Cynthia Erivo, singing “Fly Me To the Moon”, Lainy Wilson and Jacob Collier performing “Let the Good Times Roll”, Stevie Wonder Singing “We are the world,” and Janelle MonĂ¡e brings the house down with “Stop” until you get enough. “

Jones, who died on November 3, 2024, was a long -standing music industry -Power Center, which worked with some of the music’s biggest names, including Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson.

Jones won 28 grammys during his life.
