Why Taylor Swift shared a seat with Cynthia Erivo on Grammys 2025

In a video sent to X During the award ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2, Erivo (38) can be seen wandering through Crypto.com Arena looking for his seat while host Noah, 40, began his opening monologue.

She then catches the eye of Swift, 35, waving her to her table and clapping her own seat and encouraging Erivo to share her chair. Also sitting at “Two fourteen days” the singer’s table was her frequent partner Jack Antonoff and his wife, Margaret Qualley.

When Erivo sat on the chair next to Swift, the couple shared an embrace and a laugh.

In another video shared to XSwift can be seen giggle when she grabs Erivo’s finger and reintroduces the actress’s viral “holding place” with her costar Ariana Grande from Evil Press Tour last year. (While Grande was nominated for three awards this year, she did not attend the ceremony.)
