Large audience in South Omaha protesting against Trump -Administration Policy

Omaha, Neb. (Wowt) – Sounds repeated from protesters in South Omaha when many demonstrated solidarity with the immigrant community.

People waived flags and signs that opposed the recent ice attacks and Trump immigration and DEI policies.

“Everyone has the right to be here,” said Rachel Parker, a demonstrator. “Everyone has a role in our community.”

“Regardless of the color of your skin, we are all right in our eyes,” said Brittany Saunsoci, a demonstrator.

As the protest unfolded, the drivers at the overcrowded cross, who howled to support. Protesters also began to cross streets and made sure their frustrations were heard.

They wore signs that read “Hate will not make us great.”

“I think it’s important that we stand up to our family and friends and people we know, and the community we live against against all injustices,” said Joseph Castellanos, a demonstrator.

And some characters read “Don’t bite the hands that feed you.”

“Immigrants are what makes America,” said Nancy Martinez-Silva, a demonstrator. “I feel like a lot of people are hateful and there’s a lot of hatred in America.”

Other signs said that immigrants are hardworking and make America great. Some even drove hours just to be a voice for their parents.

“Even though I was born here, I still want to help my parents support their background,” said Valeria Abundis, a demonstrator.

This is what burns the protest.

“My parents came here as immigrants and came here to give us a better future,” said Martinez-Silva.

Similar protests happened on Sunday in Los Angeles. Associated Press reports protesters blocked a larger highway for several hours.
