Halifax and Lloyds Banks hit with service interruptions after Barclays problems | News Technology

Lloyds and Halifax Banks have been affected by service interruptions today after Barclays customers saw major problems over the weekend.

Both of the new banks that have problems are part of the Lloyds Banking Group, and reported questions that were spiked to both around 2 p.m.

Users said they have had trouble making and receiving payments, with some who said they had not received their salaries and had payments to be debited.

It comes after a major interruption of Barclays on Friday and brought into the weekend, as the bank said was a ‘technology question’ and left many customers who were unable to access funds or make payments.

According to the Service Monitoring Web site Downdetector, hundreds of people report problems with Lloyds and Halifax this morning.

Lloyds responded to customers who raised concerns about social media, apologized for the problems and said they were working to fix it, though they didn’t say what caused it.

In response to a customer of X, Lloyds said: ‘We know that some customers have trouble making or receiving payments. We are sorry for this and are working on having everything back to normal. ‘

A customer wrote to them: ‘@Ydydsbank We are now massive overdraft as payments have gone out, but all our standing orders that pay money you are broken? !! ‘

Halifax published an identical response to customers who made direct complaints to his official account on social media.

Is Barclays Bank still facing trouble?

Barclays customers had a nightmare during this weekend when users said they were unable to pay bills or that they did not dare to fill their cars.

One Metro Reader named Marcus told us he had to put shopping back on the shelves of co-op when his debit card and ApplePay account both failed.

He added: ‘I needed fuel for my car, but was too scared to fill and couldn’t pay, so I’ve only done limited mileage this weekend.’

There were scenes with people flooded with branches and ATMs, where rumors that ‘free cash’ were shared on X and Tiktok, although the bank said some money withdrawn would be debited.

In a statement yesterday, Barclays said the problems were now solved: ‘We are very bored with all the problems our customers were facing.’

They said a ‘technology question’ had caused the problems, although not further elaborated on what this involved.

“Everything works as it should be,” the bank said in a statement.

However, they warned that some customers could still experience delays because so many people come into contact, leaving Teams’ very busy trying to answer.

‘To save you from waiting, use our app, online bank and automated telephone service, if at all possible,’ they said.

And they issued a warning that scammers intervene in times like this as they know that customers will be concerned: ‘We will never ask for your account information or click any links in a text message – please pay attention and not share any personal information. ‘

The bank reassured customers That they intend to ‘put every customer back to their original financial position’ if they have been out of pocket because of the problems and that they should get in touch.

They added that anyone who has sent a duplicate payment in error should ‘talk to the person you paid and ask them to return any additional payments if you haven’t already done so.
