Beijing – China does not take Trump administration tariffs sitting down.

On Tuesday, shortly after the 10% tariffs came into force just after midnight on the US East Coast, Beijing announced a number of countermeasures.

These include 15% duties on American coal and liquid natural gas and 10% duty on crude oil, agricultural equipment and certain other vehicles. The Chinese counter-saving areas are intended to take effect on February 10th.

In one declarationThe Chinese Ministry of Finance said that the US tariffs “violate the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and not only fail (America’s) own problems, but also disrupt the normal economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States.”

In addition, China’s market regulator announced one Anti-monopoly examination of Google. And the Ministry of Commerce and the Customs Administration announced jointly Fresh export control on a handful of rare metalsIncluding tungsten, indium and molybdenum. Notices about the Google survey and export controls did not explicitly mention the US tariffs.

China’s Ministry of Commerce also set two US companies – PVH Group and Illumina, Inc. – on its “unreliable unit” list, saying The violated market principles and adopted discriminatory measures against Chinese companies. PVH is the parent company of brands, including Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.

These messages did not explicitly mention the US tariffs.

Trump signed orders for customs against China, Canada and Mexico this weekend in an attempt to push these three countries to do more to stop the flow of migrants and illegal drugs, including Fentanyl, to the United States.

The tariffs at Mexico and Canada has been put on wait For at least a month after negotiations at the last minute led to both countries agreeing to increase border security.

China is an important source of the precursor chemicals to make fentanyl, and Beijing says it has gone out of its way to help limit the flow of synthetic opioid to America. After Trump announced his latest tariffs, China warned that they would hurt the prospects of future cooperation and promised to launch a case against them in the WTO.

Trump has warned that he could further increase customs duties.

Earlier, Karoline Leavitt, White House spokesman, said Trump was going to talk to Chinese leader Xi Jinping over the next 24 hours.
