Workers votes to strike in Kroger -Stores

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – The Union’s workers in the state voted to approve a strike over the weekend.

UFCW Local 7 Union, in Wheat Ridge, posted on social media and said Kroger Meat Workers voted 100% to approve an unreasonable work association practice. Retail workers voted 97% for the strike.

Employees are set to participate in them from Denver, Boulder, Parker and Broomfield. Joe Kelly, Kroger’s president said the company has offered increased hourly wages and health insurance services.

Kim Cordova, the president of UFCW Local 7, said the offer is illegal as it would take $ 9 million out of their pensioner’s health plan.

There is no word yet if the strike is over.

The KKCO/KJCT News team reached out to the Union to see if the strikes are taking place in western Colorado but have not received an answer.
