Lloyd Grant: “I don’t think Metallica would say I’m an original member because the band wasn’t really formed at that time”

Metallica Got their start on June 14, 1982 when Metal Blade’s Metal massacre in Collection was released.

Metallica (Incorrectly spelled METTALLICA On the first pressing) contributed “Hit The Lights” with the set up of vocalist James Hetfield, Guitarists Dave Mustaine and Lloyd Grant Bassist Ron McGovney (who may or may not have played on the song) and drummer Lars Ulrich. Another pressing of Metal massacre in Highlighted a new version of “Hit The Lights” with Mustaine To play both guitar solos and that was – Give‘s The only contribution to the band was a guitar solo.

So should Give regarded as an original member of Metallica? According to Give Even in an interview with Reality Check TV Under the Namm Convention, Metallica Was not completely formed back then and he is not sure if they would consider him an original member. Though Give Note that he and Ulrich Squeeze quite a bit back then.

“I don’t think Metallica will say that I am an original member because the band was not really formed at that time, ”said Give. “It was like I was looking for people to play with and we had a magazine or a weekly (publication) coming out every Thursday, and Lars (Ulrich) Put an ad in and I answered the ad. And we started to get stuck and so on. ”

While the first version of “Hit The Lights” is not easily accessible, it still flows around on YouTube. And it’s not like Metallica have completely buried Give‘s inheritance – they invited both him and McGovney To squeeze “Hit The Lights” with them during their 30 -year anniversary in 2011 at Fillmore in San Francisco, approx.
