Rain on the way to Wednesday, some icy spots possible north of I-70

St. Louis – We did it … Busted a very old record high. Monday’s high was 76 f and broke the record high for the date of 75 f set in 1890. But thanks to a cold front, Colder Air moves back this Tuesday morning at Gusty Nord Wind.

Cloudy to start Tuesday morning with some clearing in the afternoon. Heights will be in the middle to the top 40s. Over night Tuesday night, when temperatures dip down in their mid -30s, our next storm system arrives.

Rain moves in from the southwest in the early morning hours Wednesday. North of I-70, this can cause some light to accumulate freezing drip. Thanks to the hot temps earlier this week, this is likely to be limited to bridges and transitions where the colder air can get flow both above and below the roadway. But slowly down and look for smooth spots.

Rain will build through the day, and showers and some storms are possible Wednesday night. Temperatures are expected to continue to rise, into the low 50s, overnight and then fall into the 40s when they last on Thursday.

A cooler day Friday, so more rain is likely to look like Saturday.
