Orioles sign free agent Ramon Laurano for $ 4 million Contract: Reports

Baltimore Orioles added to their outfield depth on Tuesday, and reportedly accepted terms with former Atlanta Brave’s outfielder Ramon Laurano on a $ 4 million contract.

The agreement was first reported by Ken Rosenthal from Athletic on Twitter/X.

Laureano, 30, became a free agent after a bounceback 2024 season in Atlanta, where he hit .259 with 11 home runs, eight stolen bases and a .748 ops (107 ops+). It was his best season of OPS+ since 2021 in Oakland.

Laureano has experience with all three Outfield positions and is perhaps best known for its strong casting arm. It would be an upgrade for Orioles in the right field after Slugger Anthony Santander traveled to Toronto on a five-year contract as a free agent.

Colton Cowser, 24, was a consensus top-100 views in the last three years. In his first Major League Action in 2024, he delivered a strong 3-war seasonal cut .242/.321/.447, good for a 123 ops+. He ended up in second place in the American League Rookie of the Year, who voted for New York Yankee’s Pitcher Luis Gil.

But Cowser’s performance was uneven at times. Laureano gives Baltimore a depth option that can spell cows in the right, and also center the Fielder Cedric Mullins and left Fielder Tyler O’Neill.

O’Neill signed one Three-year-old, $ 49.5 million contract with Orioles in December. Since then, the O’s had largely been sitting on the sidelines while their American League East Revals upgraded their lineups.

In addition to O’Neill and Laureano, Orioles added Catcher Gary Sanchez and Outfielder Dylan Carlson to their position player group in 2025. Orioles went 91-71, good for second place in the American League East and lost to the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the postal season.

Baltimore added veterans Charlie Morton and Tomoyuki Sugano to their starting rotation since the end of last season, but lost Ace Corbin Burnes in free agency.

Laureano, resident of the Dominican Republic, debuted with Oakland A’s in 2018. For seven seasons with the A’s, Cleveland Guardians and Atlanta he has cut .247/.319/.430 (108 ops+).

Four days after he was released by Cleveland Guardians last May, Laureano was stuck with Atlanta and was a productive fill with reigning MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. on the sidelines. He hit .296 with 10 homes and 29 RBIs in 67 games with braves to end the year.
