South Bay drops home competition for Oklahoma City

El Segundo-South Bay Lakers (3-10) fell to Oklahoma City Blue (8-8) 105-101 Monday night at UCLA Health Training Center. The Los Angeles Lakers Guard Bronny James, who is currently on task, scored 16 points, while adding three rebounds, five assists, three stealing and a block.

Lakers dominated the first period and outscored the Blue 33-16, grabbing a seasonal high boards for a quarter. South Bay remained aggressive through half and finished 14 points with Guard Quincy Olivari, who led the package with 11 points from the bench. Forward Miller Kopp ignited Oklahoma City’s comeback in the second half and voted 12 of Blue’s 31 points in the third period. With over 10 minutes to walk in the last quarter of the game, Blue narrowed into Lakers and pulled off only four as Lakers aimed to split away. South Bay reacted and expanded the lead to 14 points as Olivari drained one three from deep followed by a thump of two -way forward Armel Traoré by 6:38 to regulate. A 15-3 race by Blue secured the victory as Kopp landed a 3-point with 26.7 seconds on the clock.

Olivari scored a team high 23 points to go with six rebounds, six assists and a steal. Two-way center Trey Jemison recorded his second straight competition in double-figure scoring with 12 points to go with five rebounds and a steal. Guard Jordan Goodwin spoke his 10th regular seasonal excursion in double -digit scoring with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Tovejs Fremad Armel Traoré ended in double figures with 10 rebounds to go with nine points and three assists.

Oklahoma City Guard Jahmi’us Ramsey fell a game high 26 points from the bench with five rebounds, three assists and a steal. Kopp ended with 20 points, five rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block. Forward Malevy Leons noted a 14-point, 12-bound double-double with six assists and two steals.
