Brooklyn Nets vs. Houston Rockets Preview: A Trade Week Homestand

It’s two! Brooklyn Nets opened February with a visit to Houston Rockets. The nets surprised almost everyone with a really solid 12 -point victory.

The opponent tonight is a familiar. Rockets have got lots of New York Basketball in the last few days. They visited MSG to play New York Knicks and lost A dense.

Where to follow the game

Yes Network on TV. WFAN on radio. Tip after 7 p.m. 7.30 pm.

Damage

No Cam Thomas, Cam Johnson, Ben Simmons, Noah Clowney, Bojan Bogdanovic, De’anthony Melton or Maxwell Lewis. That may change.

Night two of a back-to-back so we’ll see who’s available. Alperen Sengun, Fred Van Vleet, Jock Landale and Jabari Smith Jr. missed yesterday’s games and the chances that they will all be out again tonight.

The game

So this is a fun planning vitle. This is technically the second half of a home and home between these two teams. But for Rockets, this is the second night in a New York back-to-back. For Brooklyn, this is the front half of their own back-to-back. Can’t say I’ve ever seen something similar before.

As we approach the trade deadline, Lord knows what offers can be out there to take. Maybe someone out there has another land crushed trade waiting for us? Only time will show.

In the meantime, we get to see Amen Thompson in action. The children picked up his second triple double the season last night when his 25/11/11/2/1 held Houston in it.

It’s always fun to see a young player start finding out things when they get more experience.

When we talk about young players starting to find out things, shouting to Ziaire Williams. He has looked good recently, and Collin Helwig noted his successful road trip:

“The figures stand out on their own, but Williams’ effectiveness takes things a step further when Swingman released 52/45 splits on the road. Of course, it’s a small sample size, but also, not really. Williams had double -digit shooting attempts in the two games, after only doing nine other apartments this year. He also took 10+ shots and shot 50% or better in back-to-back games for the first time the whole season of this stretch.

None of this came at the expense of Williams’ strong defense, with him who still brought the ball pressure Fernández raves around to the table every night. But the shot that created also opened up opportunities for him to attack closeouts and find teammates-and sometimes even score in the process. He played deserved 30+ minutes in two straight matches for the first time all year. “

That’s it by seeing a reconstruction team. The victories will not be there, but the moments when you see the growth that manifests itself urges you to stay locked in and focus on what could be an exciting future.

Even if Sengun is out again, Rockets will be hard to tackle on the glass. IME Udoka’s guys are near the top of the rebounding placements and have one of the game’s greatest blue men, Steven Adams. Nic Claxton wants his hands full on the inside, and Jordi Fernandez counts on him to protect the edge, keep the rockets away from the glass and finish at the edge.

Plays to see: Dillon Brooks

The Dillon villain has been pretty good since he joined Rockets. He shoots a career best 38.5 percent from three points range and is a few games removed from Binder A Rockets -franchise -record with ten (that’s right, 10!) Three points made in a single game. Brooks gives Rockets a solid veterinarian who is not afraid to get into a certain foolishness that can be practical in an autumn season. It certainly doesn’t feel like he’s been in the NBA for eight years, but it’s true and he has found a perfect role for himself on the revitalized rockets.

More Jalen Wilson minutes never hurt anyone. He has crossed the 32 minute threshold in each of the last five games, and with Cam Johnson out again, he had to do it again tonight. Like Williams above, Wilson can use this playing line to build on his success and establish a stable role for himself. Against a solid playoff team like Houston, a good game will build on his recent play and give him confidence as he continues to find his role in the NBA.

From the vault

Despite what some people might be trying to tell you, we still recognize Black History Month around these parts. With that in mind, those in the air for Mae Jemison!
