LeBron James leads lakers to blow up victory over clippers to finish road trip

Los Angeles Lakers started the day by introducing their new superstar Luka Doncic at a press conference, but then it was back to business when the team packed his Grammy Road Trip on the Intuit Dome against La Clippers.

Clippers beat Lakers lightly a few weeks ago and Doncic is still unable to fit up due to a calf injury. However, it didn’t matter when Lakers came out motivating a cruise to a 122-97 record to improve their record to 29-19. They went 5-1 on their road trip.

With Anthony Davis no longer on the team, Jaxson Hayes got the start in the middle and started the scoring at the Intuit Dome. Lakers jumped out to a quick 13-8 lead after making six of their first seven shots.

After a timeout by Ty Lue, Clippers replied with five straight points to tie the game. Lakers quickly regained control from there, though with Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura at the forefront. LeBron James then led a spurt to close the first quarter, and Lakers built a pleasant 45-29 lead that went into the other.

Lakers Rookie Dalton Knecht had a few cans in the first quarter and then a triple to open the other as LA continued to pour it on and built the lead to 24.

James did everything for his team at both ends of the floor. He found teammates for opening appearance and they did them, resulting in a 73-50 break lead.

Lakers cooled offensively to start the third quarter, and suddenly Clippers had cut their deficit to 13. Reaves helped regain the momentum, but with five quick points and then forced Hachimura a Clippers -timeout.

Things got a little chippy with Jarred Vanderbilt and Ivica Zubac pushed each other while struggling for a rebound. They were issued double technical and nothing else came out of it. Meanwhile, Lakers had fully regained control at the time when Shake Milton beat Summer in the third quarter to expand the lead to 98-75.

The game was basically past from there as Lakers continued to build on their lead to start the fourth, which got it up to 27. Bronny James got some solid run to close the game and made his first 3-pointer in the NBA, that causes the arena to break out with cheer in what was a night that Laker fans had plenty to cheer over.
