Chicago Winter Weather Advisory: Freezing Rain, Snow and Smooth Roads Can Affect Wednesday Pendants

Two winter storms will affect the Chicago area this week. The first one arrives on Wednesday, the second moves in on Saturday.

Winter weather advisory

What we know:

A winter weather counseling has been issued to the whole of Chicagoland except Laporte County, Indiana, from Wednesday afternoon to 7 p.m. 06 Thursday.

Forecasts expect a mixture of freezing rain, gossip and snow to move into the region on Wednesday afternoon and late at night, bringing up an empty snow and a thin layer of isaccumulation.

Travel conditions are likely to worsen when the system moves in, with roads and sidewalks become smooth.

Accumulations of ice on elevated and untreated surfaces are likely to lead to smooth conditions for Wednesday afternoon and evening commuting. Drivers must allow extra travel time and monitor weather updates for any changes in the forecast.

The counseling must expire at. 6 Thursday, with conditions expected to get better after that.

What is the next one:

Warmer air arrives on Thursday and helps to melt and improve conditions. The sky will mostly be cloudy with heights in the low 40s.

Friday will be another mostly cloudy day and the temperatures will be cooler with heights near 30.

Weekend Winter Storm

Another storm system is expected to affect Chicagoland on Saturday. While we are still a few days away from this storm, it looks like it brings another wintry blend with snow, gossip, freezing rain and rain everything. Slat relationships can dominate Saturday afternoon and evening, so it will be something to look at.

The weather looks great for the Super Bowl Sunday with mostly cloudy sky and heights near 30.

The sky remains dry at the beginning of next week without rainfall expected through Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the top 20s and make 30s early the next working week.
