Kendrick Perkins urges La Lakers to now trade Austin Reaves to Western Conference Star, ‘Move the Needle’

Los Angeles Lakers is expected to continue shopping after swapping Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic.

On Saturday, the NBA world was shaken to its core when Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers swapped Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis.

The trade for Mavericks was quickly labeled one of the worst offers of all time, and the dust is not yet to settle from the shocking trade that was remarkably not jerky or reported until details were completed.

While Lakers appears to be the clear winners, they have a shining gap in the center position now, and they are expected to remain active before February 6th trading deadline.

Lakers kept their best trading asset

Since coming out as a viable NBA role player in 2021 and continued to improve since his rookie season, Lakers has made it very clear that Austin Reaves was not easily accessible. With Davis and LeBron James, Reaves was tasked with running the violation and being the third goal scorer.

Now with Doncic on the guard schedule, Reaves’ Skillset is a little superfluous and he could be included in an appointment. Lakers have long been rumored to be interested in Walker Kessler, and Utah Jazz may be interested in playing ball if Reaves is included in a deal.

“With this list, if Lakers do not make a step and hold this list, their ceiling is another round output,” Kendrick Perkins explained at Road Trippin ‘Podcast.

Now, if Lakers goes out and gets the young Fella from Utah, Walker Kessler, OK now they move the needle. It can happen now. Two weeks ago, Austin Reave’s was untouched. “

Danny Ainge doesn’t want to trade with Lakers

Danny Ainge is one of the sharpest leaders in NBA and it has long been reported That he has no desire to help lacquers for a clear reason.

“Utah holds Lakers ”27 first, top-four protected choice,” explained cluttpoints’ Anthony Irwin in December. “Danny Ainge has expressed concern that Kessler would prevent lakers from smoothing fully when Davis ages and after LeBron James retires.”

With Doncic now in Purple and Gold, Lakers will not “bottom out” in 2027, and if the jazz can add a solid offensive guard in a deal for Kessler who appears to be useful with Kyle Filipowski playing well, and Taylor Hendricks see that part of a starting center when they are healthy, they should.

“I guarantee, now you can put your hands on him right now, pack Austin,” Perkins continued.

For Reaves and a 2025 second round pick it would be difficult for jazz to say no.
