National Weather Service on Tuesday released a winter weather advice prior to a winter weather system that brings the risk of a winter mix of precipitation including Isaccumes.

We expect a quick hit of snow showers on Wednesday morning before a greater influence with rain, freezing rain and sleet in the afternoon and evening hours.

For Northwest Indiana, Southwest and South Suburbs, the advice at noon will begin on Wednesday until 1 p.m. 06 Thursday. For the city, western and northern suburbs, the counseling begins at. 15 Wednesday to 7 p.m. 06.00 Thursday.

Models show the greatest influence on ice along the Interstate 80/90 corridor over Indiana and into Ohio.

Untreated surfaces become icy and smooth. Caution is recommended. ICE accumulation of approx. 0.10 inches is possible with locally heavier quantities along and south of I-80.

Conditions need to clear clear Thursday morning.
