Breeze adds flights from Charleston to New York, Vermont | Business

On the threshold to launch its New Haven, Conn. Route, Breeze Airways adds more service to the northeast of Charleston International.

The airline announced February 5 that it will launch direct flights between Lowcountry and Albany and Rochester, Ny and Burlington, Vt., In the spring.

The Rochester route will be offered Thursdays and Sundays, starting May 8, followed by a seasonal Burlington route starting once a week Monday and Friday 30 May. Albany year -round flight will be available Mondays and Fridays from June 13.

Airport manager Elliott Summy said the direct service to Rochester and Albany will be its 5th and 6th destinations in the Empire State, which BREEZE offers from CHS. The Burlington route will be the first direct flight to the state of Vermont, and the 6th offered by Breeze in the Northeast.

Lukas Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer in Breeze, said Charleston remains an “incredibly popular destination” for the airline’s travelers. With the three new routes, Breeze will have 25 direct flights Out of Charleston.

“When we continue to grow here, the brand has grown regionally,” Johnson said. “When we develop origin markets that go out of Charleston, you see us adding frequencies over twice a week. And it is very exciting for us to find the cycle of further growth and demand.”

More than 4.2 million travelers flew through the carrier’s US network last year, with approx. 675,000 of them passed through Charleston International. BREEZE Introduced several new pairings from CHS in 2024, including flights to Los Angeles and Manchester, NH

Charleston International is Breeze’s largest operational base and offers more Lowcountry flights than any other airport it serves. It also has the most direct flights to different destinations.

Helen Hill, President of Charleston County Aviation Authority and CEO of Explore Charleston, Breeezes expansion said is “Another Relationship Voting” at the airport and the local tourism industry.

Elsewhere in South Carolina, the airline also adds four flights to Greenville-Spartanburg International, including seasonal weekly routes to Fort Myers, Fla., Pittsburgh, Pa. And Westchester County, new

Breeze, which also serves Myrtle Beach, is expanded to Upstate about nine months ago.

“It’s not competitive with Charleston at all, so it’s really exciting for the state,” Johnson said. “We see growth and brand awareness throughout the state when more people visit South Carolina.”
