It seemed that Ronaldo seemed to surpass himself with every new season at Real Madrid, but nothing could ever compare with the 2014–15 campaign. The superstar scored a personal and clubbest 61 goal.

Ronaldo found the back of the net 48 times in La Liga, 10 times in the Champions League, twice in the UEFA Super Cup and once in Copa del Rey.

No one in the story of men’s international football has more performances than Ronaldo. The 40-year-old has shown 217 times for Portugal in the last two decades. Without plans for retirement at any time soon, Ronaldo can continue to increase his record.

Forward is also the only player to play in six different euros tournaments. He has also appeared in five World Cups.

With six euros under its belt, Ronaldo sits on top of the competition’s scoring charts. Portugal International has found the back of the net 14 times in the tournament, five more than France’s Michel Platini.

Given his overall appearances for Portugal, it is no surprise that Ronaldo has the record for most goals in men’s international football history. The captain has scored 135 goals (and counts) while representing his country.

Lionel Messi is the next closest player on the international scoring charts with 112 goals (and counting) for Argentina.

3. The Champions League’s leading goal scorer at all times

The Champions League is synonymous with Ronaldo. No one in the history of the tournament has more goals than the five-time balloon d’Or winner. During his years representing Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, Ronaldo scored a staggering 140 goal (excluding qualification).

Ronaldo wounded to win five Champions League titles in his career, the second largest in history. Along the way, he also secured the record for most goals scored in a single Champions League campaign (17).

It only took 438 competitive appearances for Ronaldo in a white shirt to become the club’s leading goal scorer. In his nine years at Real Madrid, the Portugal captain found the back of the net 451 times.

There is a common theme with Ronaldo’s results-the five-time balloon d’Or winner has almost every goal scoring record that is in football. It comes as no surprise that Ronaldo has the most goals in the history of sports.

On his 40 -year birthday, Ronaldo has currently scored 923 career goals and he shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, he sacked 460 goals in thirty alone. Only time will show if the legend can reach 1,000 goals, but the world will see every step on the road.
