50 Compensation in 50 States: National Anti-Project 2025 Protest held in Austin

Austin (KXAN) – A protest against Project 2025 will be held at Texas State Capitol on Wednesday, part of a nationwide day of action. Protesters began to gather outside Capitol around 10 p.m. 11 Wednesday.

Project 2025 is a political framework from the Conservative Think Tank Heritage Foundation to “lay the foundation of a white house that is more friendly on the right,” According to nonprofit. It requires a massive overhaul of the federal government through the illegal elimination of federal agencies and targeting minority groups and diversity initiatives – policies that President Donald Trump seems to implement via executive order.

Several people connected to Project 2025’s creation have also been selected for positions in federal agencies, according to AP.

According to Social media postsAction is #50501 – 50 states and 50 rallies in one day. A flyer to the Austin demonstration calls the act “a decentralized, self-organizing social act.”

“The time for preparation is over – the moment is here. We have done the work, we have built the community, we have collected supplies, and now we show up, ”said a moderator of Subbreddit R/50501.

This moderator asked protesters to remain peaceful, stay together and “stay loud, remain strong.”

At. At 11:24, Kxan estimated that hundreds had already appeared on the southern steps of Texas Capitol.

“Work starts after the rally, it starts when you get home,” said Austin Justice Coalition organizer Chas Moore at the event. “But there are people in the steps, they are not talking about democracy for transfers … They are not talking about democracy for black people.”

Characters brought to the protest had messages supporting immigrants, transient people and against President Donald Trump and the world’s richest man Elon Musk.

“No one chose Elon Musk,” a sign read. Another said, “Fu Elon Musk, Mars doesn’t need you either!”

The protest will be at Texas State Capitol from 1 p.m. 11 to 16.00
