NBA trading deadline: Fantasy Basketball Implications of Bucks-Wizards Deal

The NBA trading season continues with Milwaukee Bucks, who allegedly deals with Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson and a pick swap to Washington Wizards in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and another round of choices.

This trade is nowhere near what we have seen in recent days, but let’s explore what it means for fantasy basketball. Here is my perspective on the players and their future prospects involved.

The move relates to two important concerns for Milwaukee: Salary Cap Management and a shot upside down, albeit limited. Bucks slides under the second apron For cost -saving purposes while taking a chance for Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma is a buy-low candidate after he has been terrible (I will save you the advanced data) and shoot the cliff at only 42% FG and 28% from 3 this season. The reality is that Bucks just moved on from a guy in Middleton who helped them win a championship for a guy who has been one of the least effective chuckers in the league.

On Washington’s side, they continue their way as a hub to suck aging talent in the hope of turning them down later. Kuzma had long been considered a trade chip. The wizards get Khris Middleton, who will be the next damaged veteran of a reconstruction team that could potentially build his share for the future-as Malcolm Brogdon and Jonas Valančiūnas.

My favorite aspect of this deal was Wizards, Swiping AJ Johnson, the 23rd election in the 2024 NBA draft.

Kuzma is the big joker sign here. A reduced offensive role (going from first to third option) means fewer counting statistics, but the extra space Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard Creator could increase his shooting efficiency. Kuzma has always been a preferred opportunity for points leagues, but if he can jump back from his abysmal percentages this year, there is hope that he can restore his value in the 9-cat leagues. I mean, it can’t get much worse than rank outside the top 350 right now.

I hate Middleton in imagination a lot, but his production has been solid per. Minute. Per cleaning the glass he still ranks in 80-90. Percentile in use, points per Shot attempt and auxiliary percentage. I expect him to replace Kuzma in the starting lineup, but the minute limit of approx. 25 minutes per Fight will hood any upside. The wizards need him to be as healthy as possible so they can act him in the future. As a 33 -year -old and falling, he isn’t someone I want to list, but this step is not bad for his fantasy views if he’s already in your team.

Bilal Coulibaly and Alex Sarr remain locked into their established roles as starters and have a smaller chucker to compete with for shooting options. Having another willing and effective passerby in the starting unit should also raise the floor to all Washington’s young players.

Johnson is a dynasty -gem worth looking at. He is unlikely to contribute in redirected formats down the stretch, but there is a chance that he could cut a role in silly season if the guide can trade Malcolm Brogdon before Thursday’s deadline.

Finally arrival by Middleton Dings Kisshawn George and Justin Champagne, which lose minutes on the small forward place.
