Ice Weather Alert | Tracking trips affecting gossip and freezing rain in Maryland

Tracking three winter weather producers within the next week in Baltimore.

A winter weather counseling will be announced from late Wednesday night to Thursday morning.

Much colder air arrives Wednesday with heights to the top 30s and low 40s.

The first winter weather producer brings a mix of winter rainfall to the area late Wednesday night into the early Thursday.

There is a small chance of some light snow near the border during the day. But a much better chance of gossip freezing rain from Wednesday night to Thursday morning.

Some expected travel impacts, especially north and west of Baltimore, where temperatures may be a bit colder, and some roads may be icy overnight in early Thursday morning.

ICE -accumulations of .25 to .5 “Are possible in Carroll & Frederick counties west. But a track to .25” of ice is also possible over the rest of the area with the highest accumulations north and west of Baltimore.

Slick spots especially on bridges and transitions will be possible through early Thursday morning along with the school’s delays.

Eventually, Thursday’s temperatures will rise into the top 40s to low 50s, and the winter mix will all change to rain. Roads will have a chance to thaw quickly when temperatures rise after dawn.

Temperatures will be cooler Friday and Saturday as high top in the mid -40s.

The active pattern seems to continue in the weekend with another good chance of a winter mix for rain on Saturday.

The third potential winter weather producer comes late next Monday to Tuesday with the chance to accumulate snowfall.
