NYC ICE STORM PROGNOSE: SNE -TIME LINE, IMPRESTS FOR MORNING PONDING

‘Dangerous’ journey is possible during commuting on Thursday morning, as an in -depth winter storm is expected to bring a mixed bag of freezing rain, snow, gossip and ice to the New York City area.

  • Interior Ne New Jersey, Lower Hudson Valley, Southern Connecticut from 7 p.m. 16 Thursday to 7 p.m. 13 Thursday.
  • For NYC Metro and Western Long Island, the counseling is in force at. 4 Thursday until 7 p.m. 11 Thursday.

Heaven will be partly sunny with a high near 35.

Timeline:

According to National Weather Service (NWS) Snow is expected to develop from the southwest to the northeast after midnight, mixed with gossip and freezing rain in the middle of the morning, before mealing as ordinary rain in the afternoon. The coast and NYC Metro will change to rain at late in the morning.

  • Wednesday night: A chance of snow between 7 p.m. 1 and at. 04:00, then snow and gossip probably. Most cloudy with a stable temperature around 31. The possibility of rainfall is 60%.

Weather forecast tomorrow

  • Thursday: Snow, freezing rain and gossip before 7 p.m. 10, then rain. High near 41. The risk of rainfall is 100%.

New York City could see snow falling in the middle of the commuting on Thursday morning, which could cause destruction, especially on untreated roads and surfaces.

But Fox Forecast Center said hot air would move in and change the snow to either freezing rain or plain rain. Any snow that is left will almost completely melt.

By the numbers:

Snow and gossip collections of up to 2 inches are possible for most of the Tri-State area. While the overalls can be low, it is expected to be a heavy wet snow compressed by gossip, resulting in an icy slush.

“Final amounts could go up or down depending on the strength/duration of the system and how long the colder air stays in place,” NWS said.

As for Isacretion, a glaze is possible across parts of NYC Metro, Western Long Island and Coastal Connecticut. Up to a tenth is expected further inland.

  • If colder air stays in place a little longer, snow and/or quantities of ice may be slightly higher.
  • If warmer air is faster to move over the area, snow and ice quantities may be lower.

“This is still an uncertain forecast with further changes in expected snow and ice amounts,” the agency said. “Either way, the most important takeaway remains the same: Winter rainfall will lead to icy and smooth conditions Wednesday night – Thursday morning.”

What you can do:

“Less freezing rain accumulations on roads give dangerous journeys,” said Noaa Nws Weather Prediction Center in a post On Facebook. “Accumulating gossip can be strenuous to shovel and be treacherous to both drive and walk on. Be sure to check the conditions before you venture out and drive slowly.”

What is the next one:

The system will quickly end before Thursday and leaves mainly dry conditions in the wake of Thursday night and Friday. However, another winter storm could affect many of these same areas over the weekend.

This storm will reach the northeast Saturday night and produce another round of snow, gossip and freezing rain.

  • Saturday: A chance for rain and snow after 7 p.m. 13 mostly cloudy with a high near 38. The risk of rainfall is 40%.
  • Saturday night: Rain, possibly mixed with snow and freezing rain, and will be all rain after midnight. Make about 34. The risk of rainfall is 90%.
  • Sunday: A 40% chance of rain before 7 p.m. 13 mostly cloudy, with a high near 44.

Snow Storm NYC next week

Right now, NWS also predicts a 40% chance of snow on Tuesday. Heaven will mostly be cloudy with a high near 36.
