NBA scores: Warriors fall to jazz after Andrew Wiggins Trade

Golden State Warriors shook up a big way on Wednesday and participated in a five-team trade that will bring Jimmy Butler to the Bay area and send Andrew Wiggins to the Miami Heat.

Less than an hour later the ball was thrown to tip-off between the warriors and Utah Jazz.

Whether it is the Butler Agreement or not a good deal for Warriors can – and will be – strongly discussed. But what Isn’t it Up to debate is how depleted it left the watch list in the short term.

Of course, Butler is not yet connected to the team. And not only was Wiggins acted away in the deal, but also Kyle Anderson, Dennis Schröder and Lindy Waters III. To make things worse, Jonathan Kuminga remains the sidelines of injury, and Moses Moody came with him there Wednesday. And just for a good goal, shortly before the tip, Trayce Jackson-Davis was also excluded. It left Warriors with only 10 players … which included all three of their two -way contracts.

Add the feelings by having just divorced with one of the most beloved and respected members of the dressing room, and expectations were low for Warriors, even against a non-very-good jazz team.

These low expectations were met to start the game and to end the game, with Warriors suffering from a fairly painful 131-128 loss.

They started Lethargic – again expected considering the shocking absence of one of their core players. Utah scored the first eight points in the game and it was 14-2 before Steve Kerr joined and called a timeout. A few minutes later it was 18-4.

And then Golden State shook things off and started finding their grooves at both ends of the court. It was the type of game that contained things like Jackson Rowe that made its NBA debut and drain a three in the first quarter, as part of a final lineup with colleague Tow-Way Contract Pat Spencer, second year’s Pros Gui Santos and Brandin Podziemski , and veteran Kevon Looney, who somehow triggered Warriors. They deleted the large deficit and pulled off only three when the first quarter ended, and early in the second one closed a Santos three an 11-0 race and gave Golden State their first lead.

From there, they trusted Podziemski, who had a career game when he chose Utah’s defense apart, scored buckets and found open teammates. They pushed up to seven points before a brutal ugly finish on half did it just did a two-point game during the break.

Back and forth they went in the third quarter. No team could find any separation or build a big lead. Dubs were icy from a distance, but on the bright side Spencer delivered a hell of a highlight to motivate the team.

It was tied to 87 after three quarters and there were big 12 minutes left.

It led to a lot of energy at the arena as the teams continued to act. Warriors began to attack more and get in the bonus less than three minutes into the game. It triggered the offense and soon Warrior’s quietly built up a double -digit lead.

And then it all came down. Steph Curry turned the ball over and jazz answered with a three. Utah blocked a shot and then made another three. They got another shot, then a transitional lineup, and suddenly it was a single possession game.

After a curry bucket, Jordan Clarkson made another three to make it a two-point game approaching a minute brand. Curry would score a layup at the other end, but Clarkson answered with two free throw. Dubs were up two with a chance for a two-for one, but Daymond Green’s layup was blocked, which Keyonte George followed up with a massive three to give Utah the lead. All that was left was Curry, missing a layup and George sinking a few free kicks. From there it was just window dressing.

Another ugly late loss but a chance to get back in the victory column is waiting for them tomorrow when they visit Los Angeles Lakers. And soon we’ll see Butler in a Warriors jersey.

Curry led the road with 32 points, but needed 31 shots to get there and shoot no free kick until the last seconds. Podziemski, who got the start with the team card, had a career high 29 points and shot a total of 13 free throws, while Buddy Hield (18) and Quinten Post (10) were also in double. Looney added 10 rebounds from the bench while Green had nine assists.
