NASCAR introduces new rule to assign points to the fastest race -meat

Daytona Beach, Fla. – Nascar introduced a new rule on Tuesday, awarding a point to the team and the driver with the fastest single shot in each race.

“XFinity Fastest Lap” was added as part of a contract renewal between NASCAR and XFINITY. The New Deal assigns a point for the fastest lap in all three of NASCAR’s national series, continues Xfinity’s role as the Legal Sponsor of the Second-Level Series through 2025 and includes a multi-year agreement on XFinity to expand its premium partnership with the Cup series.

Indycar has a quick-lap rule, but it was abolished in Formula 1 prior to this season.

“We are not just going into the year 11 of our partnership. We start with year 1 of a renewed relationship with NASCAR filled with fresh energy and exciting opportunities to improve competition on the field in a way that has never been done before, “Said Matt Leader, Comcast’s Vice President of Fire Partnership and Engagement.
