Duke shot 44% off the field in the first half to take a 37-23 lead at the break and hit 68% in the second half to win in dominant fashion. Blue Devils hit 9 of 23 from 3-point range.

A 3-pointer of Starling drew orange to within 8-7 in the first half, but it was the closest Syracuse the rest of the way.

Takeaways

Duke: The Blue Devils were not the best, but did more than enough against a fighting Syracuse team to pull away in a methodical victory.

Syracuse: Orange hung around, but Syracuse’s talent level could not keep up with Blue Devils. However, the rest of Syracuse’s games can win as they try to remain eligible for the ACC tournament. Fifteen of the conference’s 18 teams play autumn games.
