Another deadline, another step for former New York Knick Cam Reddish.

Per Shams Charania from ESPNReddish is involved in one of the most effective movements of the 2025 transaction freezing: The former Los Angeles Laker moves to Charlotte Hornets along with Dalton Knecht and a first round, while Center Mark Williams is heading west with a pick swap in 2030.

It’s a big thing for Lakers that gets back some of the interior depth that was lost when they sent Anthony Davis to Dallas Mavericks in the shocking acquisition of Luka Doncic.

Reddish, the 10th total election in the 2019 draft, moves into its fifth team in the SIX NBA seasons, which includes a 35-match number with Knicks. Duke Alunet is likely to go down into big city circles like a niche bit of Knick’s trivia when everything is said and done.

Knicks originally acquired reddish in January 2022 in a 2019 -swap -swap -swap for leaching, and got him from Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Kevin Knox. Reddish appeared briefly in New York Starting Setup during the following season, but fell out of the rotation very soon after. Then he became the headlining piece of a deadline with Portland Trail Blazers, one who acquired the current starter Josh Hart, which has become an indispensable part of Knicks’ modern success.

Although he developed something of a defensive reputation in Los Angeles, he slowly fell out of favor in Lakers’ rotation and played just over 18 minutes a game this year, a career low. Seen to be an unlimited free agent this season, reddish will now have a chance to regain the tale of his NBA career in a relatively impact-free environment as Hornets (12-36) has continued to store assets in the middle of a continuous reconstruction.

Knicks face reddish and hornets on March 20 in Charlotte. Meanwhile, New York (34-17) hosts Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden (20:30 EN, ABC).
