Towson, MD – Towson University Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Team competed with UMBC Retriever’s swimming and diving team in the Tiger Winter Open. When the meeting was used for both teams to end their respective conference championships, team results were not held.

Towson, MD. – UMBC Swimming & Diving Team ended its final action before the America East Championships with a successful day at the Tiger Winter Open at Towson on Saturday.

In the last competition of the regular season, the retrievers saw several season best individual efforts and nine lifetime best. America East Championships are on VMI later this month.

“This was an excellent way to wrap the double meeting season as we prepare for America East,” said the head coach Matt Donovan. “Each team member got a few more reps from blocks and the boards that will prove very important later this month. The coaches really like where the team is right now and we are sure we will be the best in Virginia, which will come February 19th. “

The gentlemen’s 200 free staff team of Boris MilevAt Oliver GassmannAt Ryan Harding and Sean Neils won in a time of 1: 23.92, which was immediately followed by BREANNA SMITH Cruise to a win in 400 IM (4: 35.15).

Bruna de Padua Then 200 won free in 1: 52.47 before Neils won 100 back in 51.37. Harding lowered its former best 100 breast time by 8.55 seconds in second place (59.01), and a few events later took the Milev top place in 100 free in 46.91.

Nicol Davanzo was the last UMBC winner of the day when she topped the podium in the 100 -fly at a time of 56.25.

The America East Championships will host VMI and begin on February 19th.
