Williams responded to the news in a post on x:

Williams, limited to 62 games through his first two NBA seasons due to injury, has done only 23 performances so far this season.

Although Williams has missed three of the Hornets’ last seven matches due to handling of left foot injury, Espn’s Dave McMenamine Lakers “is sure of his medical.”

Williams, who turned 23 in December, have been effective when he was healthy. After sitting the first 20 games of the season, he returned to contribute a career high 15.6 points of 58.6 percent shoot off the field while adding 9.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per year. Fight of 25 minutes per Night.

Williams has a club setting of $ 6.2 million back on its contract and is scheduled to hit limited free agency by 2026.

Lakers probably hopes that Williams’ rebounding will help the team replace Anthony Davis, who was traded earlier this week in the Blockbuster deal for former Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić.

Adding a seven -foot center along with Dončić could give Lakers an elite frontcourt on the way into the playoffs, enabling Williams to stay healthy down the stretch.

To acquire a center to be inserted with Dončić, Signed Laker’s ways with a 2024 election in the first round in Knecht, which average 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds, while playing more than 20 minutes per minute. Night through 48 games in his rookie season.

Knecht has another three seasons left on his rookie agreement, including two club options that could take his contract through 2028.

Lakers also took goodbye to reddish, who was in his second season with the team. The 25-year-old was an average of 3.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 stealing in 18 minutes per day. Battle as a depth opportunity.

Reddish plays on an expiring contract and is currently ready to become an unlimited free agent this summer.

The deal left Laker’s $ 3.8 million under the second apron of the luxury tax, according to ESPNS Bobby Marks.

Lakers also gave up their 2031 selection of the first round as part of the trade. The selection was the final marketable choice of the first round of the franchise, as noted by Marks.

The Hornets meanwhile owns their next first seven first round of elections in addition to four additional choices of the first round acquired through trades, according to Marks.

Lakers have a marketable pick in the second round and a guard space left, Charania noticed, after sending Davis and Max Christie earlier this week and divorced ways of Knecht and reddish just before the deadline.

Williams could potentially join Lakers for a Thursday evening match against the Golden State Warriors, while Knecht and Reddish could take part in Hornets before Friday’s competition with San Antonio Spurs.
