W.va. Gov. Morrisey emits contingency mode for unfavorable weather

Charleston, w.va. (WSAZ) – West Virginia – Government Manager Patrick Morrisey has issued a state of contingency for all 55 counties in the state due to “a significant winter storm event.”

The State of Emergency Preparedness goes from Wednesday evening to Friday, February 7, according to a release from the governor’s office.

“National Weather Service has warned power levels, and expected rain can cause local flooding and questions in the northern part of the state. Another storm is expected to arrive this weekend with heavy rain, snow and some ice – with the possibility of heavy snowfall in different areas throughout the state, ”the release states.

It continued to say that “dangerous wind coolers and other unfavorable weather” could affect parts of West Virginia.
