Marylanders reports receiving the tax forms of others

Baltimore-Many Marylanders has reported received the incorrect 1099-G forms from Comptroller’s Office. While the envelope is addressed to the right person, the sensitive information belongs to another.

Several affected persons sent these wrong statements to Wmar-2 News Mallory Sofastaii.

“Not only have I received someone else’s sensitive information, but it is likely that the individual or company that should have received this 1099-G may have my personal details in errors, including my social security number. This is a significant question of privacy and security, especially as it seems that several business owners throughout the state are experiencing similar problems, which potentially expose sensitive data, such as social security number, ”said Vanca Buckbee, a childcare provider in Allegany County.
