Thunder’s Chet Holmgren began to return on Friday

Though Thunder Do not complete more trades before Thursday’s deadline, they are ready to make a bigger addition to their lineup this week.

Big man Chet Holmgrenthat has been sidelined for almost three months due to a right iliac wing fracture, is no longer on the team’s injuries and is expected to return on Friday against Toronto, Shams Charania reports from ESPN (Twitter -Link).

Holmgren suffered the damage, a form of pelvic fracture, on November 10, when he fell awkward on his side after trying to contest a Andrew Wiggins shot on the edge. Oklahoma City announced the day after he would be reassessed in eight to 10 weeks.

Thunder followed up in mid -January to say that Holmgren’s next exam would come for about three to five weeks. Exactly three weeks after the team announced this announcement, this year’s rookie-rookie-rookie will reportedly be back on the field on Friday.

Holmgren was an average of 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks of 29.4 minutes per day. Fight over 82 starts in his first full NBA season in 2023/24 after he missed his entire ’22/23 -rookie year due to a foot injury.

He had come to an even better start in the fall, an average of 18.2 ppg, 9.2 rpg and 2.9 bpg in 28.9 mpg over nine healthy excursions, with a .519/.400/.776 shooting line.

Although Thunder, who has a league-best 40-9 record, hardly needs further reinforcements, Holmgren’s return is an exciting development for the club, which still has not got a chance for man Isaiah HartensteinOKC’s large free agent addition of the 2024 season. Hartenstein recovered after his own injury at the start of the season when Holmgren was healthy.
