House music and its legendary black creators from Chicago got the ultimate cry to start Black History Month. Saturday, February 1, the Google highlighted the genre with A doodle on his search engine.

“To celebrate Black History Month celebrating today’s music video Doodle, House Music, a genre with roots in Chicago’s black community,” said Doodle’s caption.

Doodle captures the essence of house music, a genre of electronic dance music born and innovated by Chicago producers Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Jesse Saunders, Chip E., Joe Smooth, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Farley “Jackmaster” Funk , Marshall Jefferson, Phuture and many others.

DJ and producer Kelly G and a team of designers and animators are responsible for this smooth and funky ode to house.

“Google’s tribute to Chicago House music is not just a nod to culture – it is a masterclass in digital storytelling and respect,” wrote Kelly G. “The team did not just scrap the surface; they dug deep into history’s vinyl boxes and occupied over details , that would get even the most spicy heds to laugh. Sound became a global movement.

Many on social media praised Doodle, which anyone could access Saturday by simply going to Google.com.

“So dope to watch Google Honor Chicago House Music under Black History Month. Shout for Kelly G, Jelly Mazza, Tuma Basa and the whole protective team to put together it all and make sure we did it right! “Home legend DJ Terry Hunter posted on Instagram.
