NFL MVP Watch 2024: Ranking Finalists With Price Odds, Statistics

It’s a shame that voting for the NFL’s most valuable player award ended at the end of the regular season, especially after the battle we saw between Buffalo Bill’s quarterback Josh Allen and Baltimore Ravens Fits Lamar Jackson in the divisional round of AFC playoffs. Allen led the bills to a 27-25 win over Ravens and moved his team on to the AFC championship against Kansas City Chiefs, where Buffalo’s season ended.

Both Allen and Jackson, in their careers, composed cases to go away as 2024 MVP. After winning the prestigious honor last season, Jackson put together one of the best statistical campaigns of time and was even better than his previous two MVP seasons. Allen came close to matching Jackson in several statistical categories and orchestrated one of the best years of his career in a transitional period for the bill’s list. So who has the edge?

We asked 13 analysts – Matt Bowen, Dan Graziano, Kalyn Kahler, Matt Miller, Dan Orlovsky, Jordan Reid, Aaron Schatz, Ben Solak, Mike Tannenbaum, Lindsey, Seth Walder, Field Yates and Myself – To Votes on Top Players in MVP race. 2024 Statistics: 3,731 Passing Yards, 28 TDS, 6 Ints, 77.3 QBR (531 Rushing Yards, 12 TDS)

Season in Review: MVP is a regular seasonal price, so what Allen did during the postal season to lead the bills to the AFC title game is not included in a vote. But how he enabled his team to get there by locking # 2 seeds will.

Allen played some of the best, flawless football in his career and had the lowest percentage of acting with a sack, fumble or eavesdropping (4.2%) since the AFL-NFL merger (1970). His 40 gathered touchdowns were the fourth most in the NFL, while composing another season in a row with at least 25 passers -by touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns. His three matches with several transient and rushing touchdowns (vs. Cardinals, Rams and Lions) were mostly in an NFL season.

The case for Allen over Jackson: Voter fatigue could play as Jackson has won MVP twice. We have seen this happen in the NBA when Charles Barkley won the MVP in 1993 over Michael Jordan (who had just won it the previous two seasons) and recently with Nikola Jokic, who was snubbed to Joel Embiid after -22. In addition, voters may consider Ravens who run back Derrick Henry’s influence (1,921 rushing yards, nfl-best 16 TDs) and claims Jackson may have competition to be the best player On his own team.

This is a prize driven by stories, and the one in Buffalo is that Allen did more unless the bills shared ways with his # 1 and # 2 recipients St. Diggs and Gabe Davis, respectively during the high season. Buffalo also had only one Pro Bowl election outside Allen (left tackle dion dawkins) and no all-pros. The bills were the first team in the NFL story to beat two 15-win teams when they beat Lions and Chiefs into play, with Allen getting 747 meters, six touchdowns and one eavesdropping while not firing.

MVP -Smile: Against the 49s in December, Allen demonstrated his dominance as he threw a short passport in the red zone to Amari Cooper, who then put the ball out back to quarterback. Allen ran the ball down the sidelines while being pressed by three 49ers defenders and stretched his arm out as he broke the planet in the final zone for a 9-yard score.

Standout State: Allen was at its best when opposite defense curved the heat up. His 85.3 QBR and 6.5 meters per Dropback, when pressed, was the highest ever in a season since ESPN started tracking pressure in 2009.

2024 Statistics: 4.712 Passing Yard, 41 TDS, 4 Ints, 77.3 QBR (915 Heading Yard, 4 TDS)

Season in Review: Think of everything Jackson achieved a season after winning his second MVP. The 28-year-old Quarterback is the first player in the NFL story with 4,000 passing yards and 900 rushing yards in one season, had the fourth-best pass rating (119.6) in the NFL story and is the first reigning MVP to throw 40 Touchdowns A season after winning the award. He also put career heights in passersby touchdowns, passing yards, yards per year. Trial (8.8) and TD/INT ratio (10.3).

Baltimore won AFC North for another straight season while becoming the first team ever to explain 4,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards. Derrick Henry’s season played a huge factor in that bang, but it was Jackson who accounted for almost 27% of his team’s rushing yards. Players typically do not get astronomically better after reaching their peak, yet Jackson improved in a handful of category-passing yards, touchdown passes (17 more in 2024), percentage without target (14.9%) and total QBR-from last season. He also put franchise items in yards per year. Try and pass the touchdowns.

The case for Jackson over Allen: Jackson’s passing reached historical levels, but it was his dangerous influence that separated him from Allen as the first quarterback with 40-plus Touchdown-Pas and more than 600 rushing Yards-and his statistical influence in 2024 was better than his two previous MVP- seasons. The supportive role -crew argument that seems to favor Allen can be discussed by the fact that Buffalo, who runs back James Cook, also had as many rushing touchdowns as Henry (16).

But Jackson’s case is strongest when he looks at how he appeared against the NFL’s best team. Jackson’s 7-3 record against Playoff teams trumps Allen’s 2-3. Against the top-10 defense, Jackson The Edge has several categories: Win-Loss Record (4-2), EPA/PLAY (0.27) and Total TouchDowns (15).

MVP -Smile: Ravens entered Houston on Christmas Day and stunned a colleague-playoff team in a 29-point blowout when Jackson broke Michael Vick’s record for the most rushing yards with a quarterback. Jackson accounted for three touchdowns and set the new rushing record with 87 yards on four attempts. The historical performance was highlighted by his season long 48-Yard Touchdown race, reaching a career-best top speed of 21.25 mph (NFL NEXT GEN Stats).

Standout State: Jackson is the first player in the NFL story with at least 40 passing touchdowns and four or fewer interceptions in one season.

2024 Statistics: 2,005 dangerous yards, 13 TDS (278 receiving yards, 2 TDS)

Season in Review: Had Philadelphia not rested her starters in a week 18 match against Giants-Barkley’s previous team-after having locked NFC’s No. 2 seeds, it is safe to say that the race would probably have broken Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record ( 2.105). Barkley was an average of 125.3 rushing yards per day. Match and became the ninth player in the NFL story to hurry in 2,000 yards. But just like the other four who achieved that achievement before him, Barkley probably won’t win the MVP prize.

Barkley’s influence on Eagles’ offense felt the strongest in his 11 games with 100 rushing yards – the most ever of any player in their first season with a team – and how his presence in the back field helped quarterback Jalen shot his turnover in half in 2024 (down from 20 to 10).

MVP -Smile: Barkley shredded Rams at a November meeting in which he rushed into 255 yards (9.8 yards per rush) and two touchdowns. Although this game was at Sofi Stadium, Barkley went off the field that night to “MVP!” song.

Standout State: Barkley’s 1,440 rushing yards before Contact is the highest in one season in the last 15 years.

Season in Review: It’s a shame that Cincinnati wasted the best season of Burrow’s career with a defense that prevented Bengals from doing a post -season driving. Cincinnati was 4-8 as late as December 1st, but it found its way into the mixture of AFC’s No. 7 seeds in week 18. Burrow was the reason for it when he had league-lead in passers-by yards and touchdowns, combined with it Fifth lowest interception speed (1.4%) and fifth highest completion percentage (70.6%) in NFL.

The 28-year-old Quarterback’s fifth season will be remembered for the heavy strain he shouldered despite losses that do not reflect his star play. Cincinnati lost five matches when Burrow threw at least three touchdowns, and Bengals ’25, 5 points permitted per year. Fight was the third most among teams that had a quarterback throw for 40 touchdowns.

MVP -Smile: Burrow threw in 412 yards, three touchdowns and ran in another in Cincinnatis 30-24 overtime gains in Denver in week 17. As he did all season, he delivered in a must-win game to keep Cincinnati’s weak playoff hawks alive ; It was Bengals’ first win against a team with a winning record.

Standout State: Burrow had eight straight matches with three passersby touchdowns, which built Andrew Luck (2018) and Peyton Manning (2024) to the second longest row in NFL history.
