Spurs mysterious trade in Milwaukee leads to quick exit for Jurnyman

ESPNS Shams Charania reports that Milwaukee Bucks sends Patrick Baldwin Jr. to San Antonio Spurs. Cash is included in the agreement leading SA’s direction. It is yet to be revealed what the spurs are sending back in return, but we will update you when these details come in.

Patrick Baldwin Jr. Has been an injury-exposed player in his young career. He is a third year ahead that has never played more than 38 games in one season and so far has only played 22 games this year. His career average is 3.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists. I’m not sure why Spurs felt the need to make this step, but let’s hope it is a precursor to something bigger.

Spurs need shooters on the wing

The sprouts really need guys who can shot down with consistency on the perimeter. It should be a specialty for Baldwin Jr. who came out of college, but he has not been on the floor enough to bring this value. He shot 38% from three during his rookie season of 2.7 attempts, but played only in 31 games.

He played 38 games in his second year and knocked only 32% of his triangles of 2.6 attempts per year. Match. This season he shoots 52.4% from deep, but it is on an attempt at night and plays 4.6 minutes per day. Match. The front office must know Baldwin Jr. would be a project. His draft profile was less than flattering, and his career has so far been deficient at best.

The move gives Bucks more flexibility to make further features after acquiring Baldwin Jr. From Washington Wizards in their Kyle Kuzma for Khris Middleton Deal. That’s right. Patrick didn’t even play for Milwaukee. He was a throw -in player to help these teams complete a transaction for more talented guys.

It is not his fault that he has been injured so often, but the sprouts should not make it their problem. But I can’t imagine that is the case. It would be a little too similar to Zach Collins and Charles Bassey history lines. Both players had injury problems before they got to the spurs, and while Collins got healthy enough to play, it still didn’t work.

The difference with Collins, however, is that analysts emerged that he came out of Gonzaga. The same cannot be said for Baldwin Jr. Bassey is a stronger defensive presence than Collins, but he seems to end up being hurt time and time again, no matter what he does.

Again at Spurs this. So I don’t think they’re done making movements. There are two hours to go before the trading deadline at the time this was written. Let’s hope to see another move to add shooting, a backup center or a combination of the two for this list.
