I’m so excited about Netflix’s latest Nordic Noir …

Hanna in vein murder.

I love it when one of my favorite books turns into a TV series and Netflix is about to do just that with the thriller Veins murder. Let’s hope they do such a good job as Apple TV Plus did with Mick Herron’s “Slow Horses”!

Pretty exciting Veins murderThere hit Netflix globally on Thursday, February 6, is actually based on two of the books by Swedish author Viveca Sten. The first of these – and the one I have read and loved – is “hidden in snow” and the second is “hidden in the shadows”. It will be fascinating to see how much of the plot has been taken from “Hidden in Snow”, the first in the current three-book series that introduces us to Stockholm police officer Hanna Ahlander (played by Swedish actor Carla Sehn).

Judging by Netflix’s plot tease the opening of the series will at least stay close to “hidden in snow”. It starts with Hanna’s personal and professional life falling apart. She is told to get a new job from her boss after pursuing a colleague for a crime, and then her “perfect boyfriend” dumps her and turns out to be a cheating.

Kicked out of the apartment they shared leads Hanna to his sister’s immaculate lodge in the isolated Swedish ski resort of Oar. Hanna crying buckets and drinking too much wine, he is shocked when a local teenage girl disappears after a party in the evening. With nothing else to do, Hanna begins to investigate and offers to help fight the local policeman -Detective Inspector Daniel Lindskog. As the recent Netflix Nordic Noir Hit The breakthroughThe book and hopefully the TV series makes the victims a lot of history. You feel the pain of parents when their beloved daughter disappears. Could they have done something else? And where could she possibly have gone?

“Hidden in snow” is also wonderful atmospheric. You can really feel yourself among the beautiful Swedish mountains, while Hanna is a great creation. She is sympathetic and funny. Let’s hope the Netflix series holds the book’s humor.

When he talks about her books being adapted to a six-piece series to Netflix, says author Viveca Sten: “‘The Aars murder means a lot to me and I am very excited that it is now time for the TV series To see the light of day on a leading streaming service like Netflix!

I really enjoyed The breakthroughwhich was inspired by a real double murder case in Sweden, which was resolved after 16 years by means of groundbreaking genetic genealogy techniques. It seems that after a Lult Nordic Noir is back and Veins murder will definitely be my next binge-watch.

Veins murder released on Netflix globally Thursday, February 6th.
