NBA All-Star Game Draft: Who’s on the teams?

It’s a brave new world – again – to the NBA All -Star game.

In December, the league announced that the format for the game would change – insert Kevin Durant Eyeroll – and has a three -game format with four teams, each selected by a general manager. There will be two semi -finals and a finale all played on February 16th.

Three of the general leaders – Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith – made their draft election on Thursday night under TNT’s pregame -telecast. Candace Parker makes his choices from the last star’s last game scheduled for February 14. Each team consists of eight players, but no team could have more than five All-Stars who had been named starters.

O’Neal got the first choice to kick off the snake draft, with Ernie Johnson, who led the festivities and inmates barbs when relevant – which was often.

The rising star’s last match will give the players to Team Candace. Parker will draft after the final scheduled for February 14.

All-Star game format

To generate a more competitive game, this season All-Star Game will include a four-team mini tournament in a three-game event.

Two teams play in one semi -final and the other two teams play in the second semi -final with the winning meeting in the final. The first team that reaches 40 points in each game is the winner.

Each team has eight players-three teams consists of the 24 NBA All-Stars, and the other team will be players from the championship Game of the Rising Stars game.

The coaches for each team on the All-Star game come from the coaching losses with the best record at each conference in play, (Oklahoma City’s Mark Daigneeault) will each lead one of the NBA All-Star team, an assistant coach from one team will train it Other NBA All-Star team and another assistant will train the Rising Stars team.

NBA All-Star Game Prize Money

  • Each player on winning team: $ 125,000
  • Each player on second place team: $ 50,000
  • Each player on teams in third and fourth place: $ 25,000
