Mavericks 127-120 Celtics (6 February 2025) Game Recap

Boston-Klay Thompson scored 25 points, Daniel Gafford gave Maverick’s 15 rebounds in what could be his last start in the middle for a while and Dallas beat Boston Celtics 127-120 on Thursday night in their NBA Finals Rematch.

With recently acquired Big Man Anthony Davis with an abdominal strain and cheer over his new teammates from the bench, Mavericks led 27 points in the second half. Spencer Dinwiddie added 22 points from the bench.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla put his bench in and they pulled unexpectedly within single digits in the last minute.

Jaylen Brown, who won the NBA Finals MVP in June, while led Boston to a five-match victory over Dallas, scored 25 points, and Jayson Tatum had 17. Payton Pritchard scored 21 to lead the second-string rally.

Takeaways

DALLAS: Davis’ expected debut with Dallas after he was acquired on Sunday for five-time all-NBA first-Teamer Luka Doncic will have to wait until at least Saturday.

Boston: The finals both played their matchups in the season this year for the past two weeks and shared them. A potential re -fight this summer probably turns on who is available.
