Warrior’s newcomer Jimmy Butler shares his only regret from Heat Exit – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Jimmy Butler has a regret from his disputed collapse with Miami Heat.

And no, it has nothing to do with basketball.

“Only one,” Butler told journalists on Thursday at his Warrior’s introductory press conference. “I just opened my coffee shop in Miami and can’t go there anymore.”

After a well-documented fallout with the heat and a trade resistance with Golden State, Butler set aside his differences and accepted a two-year contract extension with Warriors leading him through the NBA season 2026-27 after being treated to the Golden State at the deadline.

On the field, it adapts him with franchise guard Steph Curry, who is also under contract with Golden State throughout the 2026-27 season.

From the field it gives him enough time to bring his signature coffee shop to the west coast.

“So we have to find out a way to get one in San (Francisco),” Butler said.

Butler, a six-time all-star, led the heat to the NBA final twice in his five years in Miami and came to the eastern conference final three times.

But this season alone, the heat butler suspended on two separate apartments with the latter for an indefinite period after the 35-year-old violated several holding rules.

In 25 games played this season, Butler is an average of 17 points per year. Match, his lowest total since the 2013-14 season, with 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

Surely a successful stint in the bay will not only bring much needed joy to dub the nation, but also improve the odds of Butler’s coffee coming to the other side of the country.
