Sterling Sharpe becomes First Gamecock voted in Pro Football Hall of Fame

Columbia, SC (WIS) – Former University of South Carolina Broad Recipient Sterling Sharpe was named Pro Football Hall of Fame Class in 2025.

The news came on the NFL Honor’s show in New Orleans on Thursday night.

Sharpe will be the first gamecock introduced in Canton, Ohio to Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Sharpe received the news from his younger brother, Shannon, who has already been introduced.

Sharpe completed his broad recipient career in South Carolina as the school’s leading recipient with 169 catches, almost 2,500 meters and 17 touchdowns.

Sharpe was a two-time allamerican for gamecocks before becoming a first draft of Green Bay Packers in 1988.

He was introduced to the University of South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000 and into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame in 2014.
