Police arresting woman after the death of ‘Rising Star’ Reporter Adan Manzano during Super Bowl Week

A Louisiana woman was arrested after the death of Adan Manzano, a Kansas City-based sports reporter for awarding in New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

Danette Colbert allegedly used Manzano’s credit card several times throughout New Orleans.

She faces several charges of real estate crime, including fraud and theft-related offenses, police say.

Her arrest warrant includes allegations of theft, including suspected criminal acts. A study is ongoing.

Manzano traveled to New Orleans to cover the KGKC, Kansas City’s Telemundo -associated company and Tico Sports. Steve Downing, general manager of the KGKC, said Manzano’s body was found in his hotel room on Wednesday night.

A cause of death was not immediately provided.

KGKC released a statement offering compassion for Manzano’s loved one. Telemundo Kansas City also confirmed its cooperation with the authorities in one statement sent to his social media platform.

“Adan was a real professional and a rising star who exemplified expertise in his work. We will deeply miss Adan and his passion for sports and the contributions he made to the local community,” Telemundo 39’s statement said.

“Our thoughts and heartfelt compassion go out to his family and loved ones in this difficult time.”

Manzano’s wife, Ashleigh Boyd, died in a car accident last year in Kansas.
