Sony drops its previous mandatory PlayStation network account requirements across a selected number of its predominantly single-player titles on the PC-but It introduces content in the game “Benefits” as an incentive to continue using one.

Sony was facing a major setback last May when it announced that it would be retroactively. It is a step that has been proven disputed among PC players, especially considering its original rationale for PSN accounts on PC – to ensure that “security and security” for online games – is significantly less convincing when many affected Titles are single -player games.

But now Sony has advertised Something of a U-turn confirming that it will remove mandatory PSN account requirements from a number of its previously released and upcoming PC titles: God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (launching this week), and the last of us part 2 remastered (currently due in April).

Over in Good of War Ragnarok, a PSN account lets the players lock Kratos’ armor of the black bear kit at the first lost objects in the rique between rich rather than waiting for new game plus, and there is also a resource bundle that contains 500 hacks silver and 250 XP.

Sony has not yet said whether it will make PSN accounts optional for all its all future single-player-focused PC releases (or if the changes mean the affected games will now be available in territories without PSN), but it confirmed more PSN incentives is on the way. “Players in PlayStation Studios will continue to work on bringing more benefits to players who sign up for a PSN account,” wrote it, “so be sure to follow studio channels for more information.”
