PlayStation Network Maintenance: When will WS-116449-5 Errors be resolved?

Users of PlayStation Network, Sony Interactive’s Gaming Platform, experienced a mistake as the servers were temporarily not available due to a maintenance problem. When opening the PlayStation, an error code WS-116449-5 was shown. There were several posts on social media by users experiencing the error. The DownDetector platform, which tracks such power cuts based on users’ data, showed an increasing curve of reports of users facing power failure.

More users of social media took to their accounts to express their frustration.

A user on X said, “PlayStation Network is down. Great start to the weekend.”

Another person commented, “Sukuna is in Fortnite, and the PlayStation network is down.”

The PlayStation error code WS-11649-5 shows that the service is currently undergoing maintenance. There is usually no way to tackle the error unless PlayStation resolves it on their end. To tackle this problem, however, the following can be attempted:

Check PlayStation Network Status: Visit Since PlayStation Network Status to see if there are any ongoing maintenance activities or power cuts.

Test Internet Connection: On your PS5 Console, go to Settings> Network> Test Internet Connection To make sure your connection is stable.

Restart your network equipment: Turn off your router and modem, wait for at least 5 minutes, then turn them on again to update the connection.

Wait and try again: If the problem persists, it may be due to temporary network stoping. Wait a while and try to connect again later.
